Jan is a litter mate to Lad. This was her biggest draw back . I always fancy Lad and did not pay that much attention to her. She was easy to train and at one stage I even though of selling her fortunately I changed my mind. When she was about four to five years old she matured and became a really steady and reliable dog. She has won the SA Nationals on three occasions, in 2004, 2005 and 2007. She is a really good double lift dog and do well with big courses. She developed a good feeling for sheep and is good on most type of sheep. She is a very good farm dog with plenty of power and balance. Jan is one of those dogs that will start of the day and end it in the same fasion , she has good stamina and never stops.

In 2007 and 2008 she went to the USA with me to compete in some trials there. In 2008 she did us pride by coming third in the very competitive trial Soldier Hollow. In the first round she has won the day and on her second run she came second. In the final she worked well just missing cold. This dog could have done way better if I had payed a little more attention to her when she was young. It is a real pity that they get old so quickly.
