Lad B17127

Breeding: Bob (Imp) B13957
Jessie B15494

Born 23/04/1999

Lad was one of those pups that chose himself. He was a handsome little fellow and had a lot of personality.

He started to show interest in sheep from a very young age. He was not the easiest to train and always question me a little bit. He developed into one of the strongest dogs I have worked with. He could walk up to anything and make them move , he really liked ewes and lambs specially if there is a stand of. He is a good cattle worker as well. In the pens I taught him to back and he is really useful with large numbers of sheep. Lad is a good line dog and can be extremely hard to flank. But he can keep most sheep on line without to much flanking.

He is a tough dog to trial specially with light sheep. But when the sheep suit him he normally does a fine job. He has won several National Brace titles. In 2005 he won the Dog of the Year award , this achievement also took us to compete in the USA. In both the trials we attended in the USA he got into the final. At the Meeker Classic he did very well and came 3 in the first round out of 120 dogs . In the semifinals he ended up second.

Lad died in 2011. For the last few years he was retired and lived with friends on a farm not far from us.

He had a lot of hart and will be missed.
